Designed new website & streamlined inquiry process

The owner of this local painting company approached us after spending a lot of time struggling with the company’s website himself.

The website had been created using a pre-built theme, and there was zero design flexibility. The website had half-finished pages and broken links throughout. However, the owner liked the look of the theme.

We started by rebuilding the website from scratch, using page builder software that allowed us to create a design the looked similar on the front end to the theme the owner originally wanted to use. Since the owner wanted to make changes himself, we also created a backend dashboard that made it easy to edit pages and provided 1:1 training, ensuring he felt comfortable doing so.

The inquiry process previously in place was very complicated – they had purchased extra software that put the simple contact form information into a text message that was sent to the owner. Then he had to call and ask the location, what type of service they were looking for, etc. We streamlined this by building a custom inquiry form that included questions about where the project was located, which type of service they needed (commercial/residential, interior/exterior, etc). This saves the owner a lot of time and reduces friction with potential clients.

We then set up a Google Ads campaign to drive leads quickly while we started creating monthly content for the blog.

Within five months, we paused the Google Ads because the company was already booked out with painting jobs so far in advance.

In the meantime, we started publishing one high-quality blog post every month. We had three goals with this content:

  1. Establish the company as an expert in all things painting & drywall
  2. Answer questions that the company was answering frequently for their customers
  3. Bring in more organic traffic by ranking for painting-related keywords.

Grew organic traffic over 7,600% over a 12 month period

Our efforts paid off when some of our content started to take off. The website saw a significant increase in organic traffic within a few months of consistently publishing content, and we’ve seen clicks and impressions (the number of times this website appears in search results for any keyword) continue to grow month over month.

As of the date of publishing this case study, one particular article is ranking #1 for the keyword “best drywall primer”, and is also featured in the People Also Ask section for a related question.
