THE GOAL
D&R Farm is a small, family owned and operated farm in Hampden, MA. They raise poultry and sell a variety of produce, baked goods, preserves and meat in their farm store. With no digital presence at all, they were relying on word of mouth and their Facebook page to garner new customers. Our goal with this project was to build a simple, attractive website that gave visitors all the info they need.
THE BUILD
This one-page site needed to convey three main pieces of information about D&R Farm – the farm store hours, how to order turkeys and pies for holidays, and where to find them at local farmer’s markets throughout the year. Using a header menu with jump links makes it easy to navigate the site. We also incorporated the beautiful branding and illustrations done by our good friends at The Homegrown Studio. Adding an email sign up form in the footer will also allow the owner to start building an email list now, even though she may not start sending emails for a little while. It’s always good to think ahead with these things – in this case, building an email list now assures that when the owner decides to start doing email marketing, she’ll already have the beginnings of a mailing list!
