THE GOAL
Field Service Nation is a directory website for mobile mechanics all over the US and Canada. Users can add their information to the directory and search for other technicians by location or services offered. There’s also an online shop selling stickers, t-shirts and hoodies to people employed in the field. The merchandise represents the hardworking outdoor lifestyle.
THE BUILD
This complex directory site was build using custom post types. It features a front-end user submission form, an interactive directory maps, and a database of technicians that can be filtered two ways. The e-commerce site is built using WooCommerce integrated with a print-on-demand company. This way there is less risk because no inventory needs to be carried; orders placed on the site are sent to the printer and ship directly from there. Multiple payment options (PayPal & credit cards) make it easy for shoppers.
